One-eared streaker terrified Cliftonville, say Kent Police

by Martin Jeffries

A naked man with a missing ear and a badly damaged hand has streaked through a seaside town - leaving onlookers terrified.

Police were called after onlookers reported the man, thought to be in his 30s, walking through the town at about 4.15pm yesterday.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found he had made his way inside an office block on the main road through Cliftonville where he urinated on the floor.

The man, who was described by witnesses as being of Eastern European origin, was arrested and taken into police custody.

He was later taken to St Martin's Hospital, Canterbury, which specialises in psychiatric care.

A spokesman for Kent Police said the man's right hand was severely damaged, possibly from a past explosion, although officers are unsure when he suffered the injury or the loss of his ear.
