AN OPERATING theatre and X-ray machines will be on view to the public when a animal hospital opens its doors for a behind-the-scenes tour.
The open day at the PDSA PetAid hospital, in Campus Way, Gillingham, on Saturday, will welcome Medway residents interested in finding out what happens to their pet if it needs an operation.
There will be entertainment, including fund-raising stalls and a fun dog show with classes, including best lookalike dog and owner.
Dog owners are encouraged to bring their dogs along for a PetCheck, where veterinary staff will access their weight, coat condition and teeth.
PDSA spokesman Lee Grant said: "We hope that many supporters will visit the hospital on Saturday to have fun and to see the excellent work that PSDA does in Gillingham.
"PDSA depends on donations and legacies from generous pet owners to maintain its PetAid services and this is a chance for people to see what a difference their generosity makes to sick and injured pets."
The hospital, opened last April, provides free treatment to over than 85 sick or injured pets every day. BBC Radio Kent's Barbara Sturgeon start the day's activities at 12.30pm.
