KENT Messenger Group business editor Trevor Sturgess had the tables turned on him when he was presented with an award at The Prince's Trust conference in Canterbury.
After chairing a question and answer session with young businesswomen Teresa O'Connor, from Margate, and Anna Crilly, from West Kent, he was surprised to be invited to collect a certificate of his own.
Margaret Pearson, chairman of The Prince's Trust Area Board for Kent and Medway, paid tribute to Trevor's support for the Trust for the past 10 years.
The award also recognised the support he has given to the young people he has reported on who have successfully started their businesses in the county through the Trust's start-up loans.
Trevor is on the advisory board of the Government's New Entrepreneur Scholarship scheme that helps would-be business people in poorer wards.
Ron Dunham, Kent area director, said Trevor had given great support to young business people through his reports and the Trust was very grateful.
"For once, Trevor was lost for words," he said. "He actually became one of his paper's stories for a change!"
