What do a kevlar helmet, insect repellent, thermal underwear and a mess tin all have in common?

They are all on the Winter Media Kit List handed out to journalists before travelling to Afghanistan.

KM Group reporter Chris Price is beginning a week embedded with Kent troops in the country. He was due to leave on Tuesday but after technical problems with the plane now departs today.

He will be reporting on how our soldiers deal with all aspects of life out there.
