An overturned lorry has only just been righted - eight hours after it crashed.

The 24ft container lorry was recovered at about 1.50pm today on the A228 Formby Road, Halling. It was reported overturned at 5.30am.

The HGV shed it load and partially blocked the busy road and part of the pavement.

Traffic was able to pass but major delays were caused while emergency services cleared the scene.

Kent Police orginally expected the recovery of the vehicle and its contents to only take four hours.
