Pair arrested over cars vandalised in road

TWO teenage boys have been arrested by police following reports of damage to several parked cars.

Hundreds of pounds worth of damage was caused to vehicles in Crundale Road, Gillingham, on Friday, October 12.

On Wednesday, October 17, a 16-year-old boy and an 18-year-old youth were arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage.

The 16-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis after a cannabis plant was found at his home.

Both boys have been released on police bail while investigations continue.

PC Alex Bain, local neighbourhood officer for the area, said: "Residents deserve to be able to park their own car in the street without worrying about it being damaged.

"We will continue to conduct our high profile patrols as part of the ‘Safer Autumn’ campaign in order to curb this kind of behaviour.

"Our actions demonstrate that we take incidents of this nature seriously and will not hesitate in making arrests when appropriate."
