Two men have been charged after a teenage girl suffered a wound to her neck in a stabbing incident in Kent.

Matthew Godden, 28, of Preston Road, Northfleet is accused of assault, causing actual bodily harm and grievous bodily harm.

Michael Godden, who is 24 and lives at the same address, is charged with common assault.

The 16-year-old girl was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries after the incident, which happened in Park Avenue, Northfleet on Thursday night.

The men appeared before magistrates in Medway on Saturday. They are next due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on October 13.
