Paramedics in Kent are due to start a trial of body-worn cameras in the coming weeks to protect them against violence and abuse.
Ambulance workers will be taking part in the scheme after similar initiatives started elsewhere in the country.
The number of reported attacks on paramedics increased in the 2019/20 financial year to 245, compared with 224 in 18/19.
A spokesman for the South East Coast Ambulance Service said: “One assault against our staff is one too many.
"We continue to encourage our staff to report all incidents whether they be actual physical assaults or verbal threats.
"Wherever possible we will take action against any individual who assaults or threatens our staff who should expect to be able to provide care to patients and serve their communities without facing this kind of behaviour."
Full details of the trial and a start date are yet to be revealed.
