A MAN due to stand trial accused of the parcel bomb murder of grandmother Barbara Harrold 20 years ago has died in prison.

Keith Cottingham, 70, had been charged with killing Mrs Harrold at her home at Ightham, near Sevenoaks, after a previous trial was halted due to his ill health.

Mr Cottingham had been in prison since being extridited to England from Spain two years ago. He had moved to Spain in 1981.

Kent Police revealed at the weekend that Mr Cottingham died in Belmarsh Prison in London last Friday.
