Hear Michael's father
Lloyd talking about the family's campaign
The Justice Minister is today meeting the
parents of a Kent teenager who died after being attacked
to urge him to increase the length of jail sentences.
Michael Chapman, 16, from Sittingbourne,
died after being attacked at The Gore playing fields in Gore Court
Cricket Club in 2006.
His killer, Lee Cowie, served less than two
years of a four-year manslaughter sentence.
His parents, Lloyd and Sue Chapman, last met
with Justice Minister Jack Straw a year ago - but are meeting him
again at 11am on Thursday to encourage him to increase the
sentences convicted criminals receive.
They believe sentences are too lenient which
does not act as much of a deterrent.
