Team director Paul Farbrace says Kent’s 2011 fixture list is ‘horrendous’ and will have a negative impact on players and the paying public.
The schedule was unveiled on Tuesday and Farbrace voiced his deep disappointment with the gruelling demands set to be heaped on his squad.
He said: "It is always an exciting time when the fixtures come out and you can start to look forward to the next season, but I have to be honest, this is a horrendous fixture list."
Among his gripes are the lack of preparation time afforded to the club before each LV= County Championship Division 2 game, the demands of playing back-to-back T20 games and the effect of the sheer amount of cricket on a small squad and the paying public.
He said: "We have got four back-to-back T20 games - that is ridiculous.
"We have also got a four day game and two T20s in the space of six days more than once. The key thing is that it diminishes the standard of the game.
"It is very unfair on the players and on the paying public who want to watch quality cricket, because they are not going to get to see it.
"It means squads will have to be rotated but when you are running with a smaller squad like ours, it means that the players quite simply aren’t able to perform to the same standard on back-to-back days. It will be very difficult."
He added: "It will be a very hard season with the schedule."
