Paul Farbrace is promising a more positive approach from Kent Spitfires when they seek their first Clydesdale Bank 40 win of the season against Notts Outlaws at Trent Bridge on Saturday.
Makhaya Ntini will make his one-day debut for the county, after last week’s wash-out against the Durham Dynamos, with Azhar Mahmood added to the 11 on duty against Warwickshire at Canterbury this week.
Team director Farbrace says lessons have been learned from the defeat against the Bears last month.
He said: "We will look to play more positively, go harder from ball one and look to play more shots at the top of the order if the wicket at Trent Bridge allows.
"We will look to get stuck in and be more aggressive up front.
"If we do lose a couple of wickets early, it’s important to keep going hard and is the way we have to play in one-day cricket."
Farbrace added: "Our bowling against Warwickshire was disappointing because only Simon Cook and Azhar did well.
"We will have a decent pace attack against Nottinghamshire, Martin van Jaarsveld and James Hockley are more than capable spinners and Darren Stevens is bowling really well.
"It’s all about making sure we have got enough options."
The Outlaws have won one and lost one in their opening two games and Farbrace said: "It’s a tough group and it will go right down to the last game.
"We will be one of the favourites to get to the next stage but there are lots of good teams."
