Paul Farbrace says Kent are refusing to feel sorry for themselves despite an early season injury crisis hitting an already small squad.
Kent’s director of cricket ruled out drafting in any other loan signings to ease the problems.
Farbrace (pictured) said: "We are trying to get through with what we have. We could moan and groan and say how unlucky we are but prefer to think how fantastic it is that our youngsters are getting an opportunity.
"Adam Riley came in and did well on Sunday and I thought Adam Ball did fantastically in both his games.
Kent’s list of walking wounded includes Matt Coles, Dewald Nel, Simon Cook, Robbie Joseph and Joe Denly.
Coles’ knee injury is responding to treatment, Nel (back) could be fit for the friendly against Loughborough MCCU in two weeks, while Joseph might be fit to return against Glamorgan, after pulling a quad muscle in his leg.
Denly and Cook, both nursing broken thumbs, will be out for a minimum of three weeks.
Kent face Yorkshire in the Clydesdale Bank 40 at Canterbury on Sunday (1.45pm), before travelling to Cardiff for their fifth LV=County Championship Division 2 game of the season, against Glamorgan, which starts at the Swalec Stadium next Tuesday.
