A man called Mr Starbuck has been ordered to stick to coffee and other non-boozy drinks in one part of Kent.

Paul Starbuck is now banned from drinking in Tunbridge Wells town centre, after an ASBO originally covering Truro in Cornwall was extended.

The 47-year-old, of no fixed address, was given a five-year order by Truro Crown Court back in March 2009 for alcohol-related offences.

But the order has been extended to prevent him drinking or carrying opened bottles or cans of alcohol in Tunbridge Wells's designated alcohol control zone.

Truro Crown Court, which granted the extension, heard how Starbuck had been abusive, violent and had spat at someone while drinking since moving to Tunbridge Wells.

Ch Insp Simon Wilshaw of Kent Police said: "We want to enforce acceptable levels of behaviour and take action against the minority of people who are intent on intimidating or harassing others.

"Should anyone witness Starbuck breaching the conditions of his ASBO, until it expires in March 2014, I would urge them to contact the police straight away."

Starbuck's ASBO also requires him to make sure his dog, named Mr Fudge, is not dangerously out of control in a public place.

Mr Fudge must now be muzzled in public.
