AN ELDERLY man has died in hospital after being struck by a car in Wainscott, near Rochester.

The 74-year-old man was in collision with a read Vauxhall Nova in Benenden Road on Tuesday at about 10.40pm. The vehicle hit a wall and overturned landing in the front garden of a house.

The pensioner was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital where he later died. PC Julian Barton said: "If anyone was in the area at the time and witnessed this incident they should contact Medway police."
