Pedestrian in tragedy outside theatre

A 65-YEAR-OLD pedestrian has died in hospital after being in collision with a car in Margate.

Police in Thanet are appealing for witnesses to the collision outside the Winter Gardens theatre in Fort Crescent at lunchtime on Tuesday.

The man, believed to be from Margate, was struck by a silver BMW near a bus stop.

He was taken to the town’s Queen Mother Hospital where he later died.

The man has not yet been named by police. An inquest will be held.
