A 21-year-old man is in a serious condition in hospital after he was in collision with a car late on Friday night.

Police were called to the scene of the incident in Sheerness High Street just after 11.20pm after receiving reports a man had been in collision with a black BMW.

The man suffered a serious head injury and was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital before being transferred to Kings College Hospital in London.

The road was closed at the junction of Millennium Way to allow investigations to be carried out.
