A 78-YEAR-OLD man has died after becoming ill at the wheel of his car.

The man was driving his Toyota Corolla along Sandhurst Road, Margate, about 10am on Thursday when his car left the road and crashed into a hedge.

The man was taken to QEQM Hospital by ambulance but died a short time later.

Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is investigating the incident. The man’s name has not yet been released.
