A 75-YEAR-OLD woman has been burgled and seriously assaulted by an intruder at her home.

The attack happened in Weymouth Road, Cheriton, near Folkestone, at around 3pm on Friday. The woman is being looked after by members of her family and specially trained police officers.

Police are appealing for information from anyone who may have noticed a young man acting suspiciously in the area or noticed anything suspicious or unusual.
