A pensioner was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a road crash in Hythe.

A man, thought to be in his 70s, suffered head injuries in the accident in Military Road just before 2pm Monday.

Police closed the area around Red Lion Square after the incident, which led to traffic chaos.

The victim was taken to Ashford's William Harvey Hospital.
