A person has been taken to hospital after reportedly being hit by a train at Birchington-on-Sea.

British Transport Police were called to the station at 6.30pm yesterday, where the casualty was being treated by paramedics.

They were taken to hospital with what are being described as non-life threatening injuries and the incident is not being treated as suspicious.

The train involved was a London Victoria to Ramsgate Service and buses were used as replacements while the line was closed.

Trains were able to resume running at 8.40pm, although services remained delayed until 11pm.
