A pervert who sexually abused a young girl has been jailed for 11 years.
Malcolm Waghorn had told police when they arrived at his home: “You are looking for me.”
The 37-year-old, from Sheerness, went on to make a full confession, Maidstone Crown Court heard.
He admitted four offences of sexual assault and three of sexual activity with a child.
Waghorn, formerly from Graveney, near Faversham, had told the girl he was going to touch her because he was frustrated from not getting enough sex.
Prosecutor John O’Higgins said Waghorn first molested the victim over her clothing. The girl told police how the abuse progressed further.
On one occasion when Waghorn committed a sex act on her she ran away. He chased her and slapped her around the face.
Mr O’Higgins said Waghorn asked the girl to take a video of her private parts on his mobile phone.
He told her it would help him because he could watch the film instead of touching her. She told him it was disgusting but he insisted.
When arrested, Waghorn made admissions and said he “went into a blur”. He added the abuse became out of control, but claimed: “I never intended to have sex with her.”
Danny Moore, defending, said the case was the “worst of its kind”. Waghorn had many distorting thinking processes.
“It is unlikely he will ever have any unsupervised contact with any child again,” he said. “There is very little mitigation.”
Judge Michael Carroll told Waghorn: “You knew full well what you were doing. I reject any kind of justification expressed for this behaviour. These were repeated assaults.”
The judge said it was a catalogue of offending and an indefinite sexual offences protection order was necessary to safeguard the public in future.
Waghorn’s name will appear on the sex offenders’ register for life.
