HE IS Big Brother 7’s loveable lad and set to become the runaway winner.
Now the Kent town where Pete Bennett was educated is getting behind the wacky rocker who has impressed the nation.
Pete Bennett, 24, studied at Parkwood Hall School in Beechenlea Lane, Swanley, before moving to Brighton.
The BB7 housemate, who has Tourette’s syndrome, has become a hit with Big Bruv addicts up and down the country since he entered the house a fortnight ago.
One source close to the school said: “Pete is doing so well in the Big Brother house.”
Denise Mayow, the barmaid at the Olympic in Beechenlea Lane, Swanley, said: “I had heard that he went to Parkwood Hall School. Pete is my favourite, I have a real soft spot for him. Pete to win, definitely!”
Pete is the odds-on favourite to beat housemates Sezer, Grace, Glyn, Imogen, Mikey, Richard, Lea, Lisa and Nikki, plus new housemates Sam and Aisleyne to the top prize of £100,000 in the Channel 4 reality TV show.
Rupert Adams, a spokesman for the bookmaker William Hill, said: “Pete is a runaway winner with eight to 11 odds to win.
“Of course, this is subject to change because of the number of contestants that have left the BB house.”
Barmaid Andrea Dougherty, at the Red Lion in Swanley Village, is addicted to the show and is rooting for the singer in rock band Daddy Fantastic.
She said: “I love Pete and I think he should win.”
Punter Neil James, who lives in Swanley Village, took time out of his pint at the Lamb Inn to pledge his support to the housemate.
He said: “I haven’t been watching it but now I know that there is someone with a local connection, maybe I will start. If he wins, I hope he buys us all a round of drinks.”
