AN ATTACKER who swung a blunt implement into a man’s face broke his front teeth in a vicious and unprovoked assault.
The victim, a 25-year-old man from Coxheath, near Maidstone, was walking in Westerhill Road, near the village, at about 9.30pm on Sunday, July 16, when he caught sight of a figure on his right side.
The figure swung something at the man which caught him in the mouth and damaged five of his front teeth, breaking three at the root.
The man also suffered grazing to his nose and chin.
The figure seen at the time was said to be wearing a red shirt, but the dark conditions meant no further description was possible.
Nothing was taken from the man, who managed to return home after the incident.
Det Sgt Nick Sparkes, who is investigating the incident, said: “This was an unprovoked and cowardly attack on a man, which left him with severe facial injuries.
“I would ask that anyone with any information concerning this attack should contact us immediately”.
