Police appeal for witnesses after crash on the A2

A driver is fighting for his life after being involved in a crash on the A2.

The incident happened in the early hours of Friday, March 19, on the London-bound carriageway of the road's Jubilee Way stretch at Dover.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward to help with inquiries.

A Kent Police spokeswoman said: "The collision happened at around 12.40am at the part of the Jubilee Way where the road curves around above Dover Eastern Docks, around 200m from the entrance to the docks.

"Two vehicles were involved, a black Nissan Navara pick-up truck and a black Toyota Yaris.

"The driver of the Toyota Yaris sustained serious injuries which were believed to be life-threatening.

"He was taken to hospital by South East Coast Ambulance Service."
