ROBERT CHANDLER: Suffers from the onset of dementia

MEDWAY Police are appealing for information about a 49-year-old man who has been missing since Thursday.

Police are concerned for the safety of Robert Chandler as he suffers from the onset of dementia.

The missing man is desribed as 5ft 7ins tall, of stocky build, clean-shaven and with a clear complexion. He has short, spiky, greying hair.

Mr Chandler lives in Tintagel Gardens, Strood, and was last seen in Pattens Lane near City Way in Rochester, between 9.20am and 9.30am on August 5.

He was wearing a light coloured short-sleeved polo shirt, beige/brown knee-length shorts, calf-length socks and trainers. He was also wearing an SOS bracelet and a chunky gold chain.

A spokesman for Medway Police said: "He suffers from the onset of dementia, but if spoken to would converse in a normal manner and there are no obvious symptoms, which would indicate that he suffers from dementia."

Anyone who may have seen Mr Chandler or who may know of his whereabouts are asked to contact Medway Police on Medway's Missing Persons Line on 07989 992317 or 01634 884252.
