Police investigating a rape threat against Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole have arrested a 17-year old from Kent.

The threat was alleged to have been made last month in an voicemail message left on a mobile belonging to X Factor presenter Dermot O'Leary.

City of London Police said the boy, from Tunbridge Wells, was taken into custody on suspicion of malicious communication.

He has now been released on bail.
