A MAN tried to dodge police after he was involved in a road crash on the Chatham stretch of the M2.

Police chased the man into Blue Bell Hill village following the collision yesterday.

The accident happened on the motorway between junctions three and four.

Only two cars were involved, but the drivers escaped with minor injuries.

A police spokesman said: "It was a small accident. One driver had minor head injuries.

"We pursued the other driver and eventually caught up with him. He was arrested for failing to stop after a road accident."

Paramedics and firefighters were called to the scene but were not required.
