A MOTORIST died in an accident in Medway earlier today.

Police were called to New Road, Chatham at 2.30pm after a male driver was reportedly seen slumped at the wheel.

The man was taken to hospital by ambulance but medics pronounced him dead.

Police diverted traffic whilst the road was closed, but it reopened at about 3.45pm.

His next of kin are in the process of being informed.
