Police: cut out reckless moves in traffic

MOTORISTS are being urged be police not to carry out dangerous manoeuvers when faced with traffic queues.

The advice comes following a crash on the A249 near the Stockbury roundabout last Wednesday.

The accident led to tailbacks to Bobbing, near Sittingbourne, and drivers who joined the A249 tried to reverse back up the slip road to avoid the jam.

PC Warren Jarvis, Mid Kent traffic co-ordinator, said: "It is illegal to reverse up a slip road for a good reason.

" This sort of dangerous and reckless behaviour will not be tolerated and police will prosecute anyone who puts other road users in danger."
