Police search teams at the house in Rankine Road, Tunbridge Wells
A police dig of a garden after reports human remains might be buried there has found nothing.
Officers started searching the semi-detached property in Rankine Road, Tunbridge Wells, on Monday morning.
Forensic teams completed the probe of the back garden this morning - and revealed their efforts have been fruitless.
The search of the three-bed semi, on the Sherwood estate, began after officers received intelligence relating to a possible crime committed in the late 1950s in which a young woman died.
No one living at the house now is connected to the death. They left the property while digging work took place.
DI Lee Whitehead, from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, said: "The search of the garden in Rankine Road has been completed and no human remains have been found.
"I would very much like to thank the local residents from Rankine Road and the surrounding area, for their co-operation and patience while we carried out this essential investigative work."
