Emergency services converged at a bridge near Maidstone after concern for a woman sitting on the wrong side of the railings.

The incident happened on Tuesday night, about 7.30pm at the bridge over the A20 near Junction 8 of the M20 at Bearsted.

Police found the woman sitting on the wrong side of the railings and the road was closed while an officer spoke to the woman.

At about 10pm she came back over the railings and the road was opened 10 minutes later.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service and Kent Ambulance were also called to the scene.
