Police given extension to quiz attempted murder suspect

Police have been given more time to question a man who was arrested on Sunday night on suspicion of the attempted murder of a woman in Hamstreet.

Officers were called to a house in Rectory Walk, Cock Lane at 9.30pm on Sunday where they found a middle-aged woman unconscious.

She was taken to the William Harvey Hospital where her condition is said to be “critical.”

Police arrested a man at the house and this morning Ashford magistrates granted officers more time to question him.

Police say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.
