A YOUNG man suffered serious injuries after his head was stamped on during an attack on him by a gang.
The 20-year-old is in a critical condition in hospital after being attacked by five men in Becton Place, Northumberland Heath, Bexley.
The incident happened at around 2.40am on Wednesday, February 27.
Det Sgt Paul Charlton, who is leading the investigation, said: “This was a violent and unprovoked attack. The victim was punched and kicked and one of the suspects is believed to have repeatedly stamped on the victim’s head causing serious injuries and rendering him unconscious.
“We are appealing to any witnesses who may not already have come forward to tell us what they know about the attack or with any information that they think may help police bring the assailants to justice.”
One of the men is of mixed race, aged around 23, 6ft tall, with cropped black hair and wearing a round neck brown or beige jumper, blue jeans and black or brown trainers.
Another attacker is white, aged 21, 5ft 11in tall, with short light brown spiky hair and was wearing a grey and white striped hooded jumper, stonewash jeans, possibly with ribs on them, and black shoes.
The third man is white, aged 17, 5ft 6in tall, with short light brown hair and was wearing a white and black or brown stripy hooded jumper, blue jeans and white trainers.
The other two suspects are also white and aged about 17.
One of the attackers is believed to have been driving a Vauxhall Vectra.
