Emergency services were called to the scene at 9pm including two fire engines, two ambulances, a South East Coast Ambulance Service nurse and a rapid response vehicle. But the paramedics’ attempts to save Mr Perkins were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no passengers in the car.
