THE elderly woman whose body was discovered on the beach at Viking Bay in Broadstairs yesterday has been named by police. She was Marguerite Fairley, 78, of York Street, Broadstairs, who was well known locally and swam in the sea regularly.

It is believed she was swimming when she died. Her death is not being treated as suspicious.
