Police probe sex attack on girl

POLICE are investigating an indecent assault on a girl of 16 as she walked along Victoria Road in Margate.

The girl was heading in the the direction of Ramsgate when she noticed someone was walking behind her.

As she reached the area of St Johns Avenue a man grabbed her from behind and indecently assaulted her. She shouted and he let go and ran away. The victim was left very shaken by the incident but managed to describe her attacker.

He is about 5ft 11in and very skinny. He wore a three-quarter length black duffel coat with bone-like buttons. The coat was done up and the hood was up. He also wore black trousers, black pointed lace-up shoes and smelt of washing powder.

The girl didn’t see the attacker’s face but thinks he was a youth.
