Police recovered 150 cannabis plants worth £4,000 after raiding a suspected factory at Sturry on Wednesday.
Officers also removed lighting and heating units but found no one at the semi-detached three-bedroom house in Fordwich Road.
Witneses saw police remove bags, tubs and equipment and put some in a skip in the driveway after a call from a member of the public at 1.15pm.
Neighbourhood officer, PC Robin Macalpine-Downie said: "These factories are not only illegal but also pose a serious risk of fire due to the large amount of electricity needed to run the heat lamps and other equipment.
"This action is part of our sustained efforts to tackle drugs locally and I am pleased that this cannabis will not find its way into the hands of curious young people who are considering experimenting with drugs.
"By shutting down this operation we have taken a large amount of cannabis off the streets and made the area a safer one."
