Detectives investigating a cash robbery on a security van at a petrol station in Strood, have named a man they would like to speak to in connection with the offence.
The robbery happened at a petrol station in Cuxton Road, last Wednesday, and it is believed the gang who carried it out may have got away with more than £50,000.
Police say they would like to speak to Michael McCluskey, pictured, who may have been one of three balaclava-clad men officers have been seeking in connection with the attack.
Officers think McCluskey, 25, from Erith, could be in the London area.
DI Kevin Downard, from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, added: “We believe this robbery was carried out by three men.
“One man we urgently need to speak to is Michael McCluskey, who we think may be in south London.
“I urge people to look at his photo and if they know him or his whereabouts not to approach him but to contact us immediately.
“I would also appeal directly to Michael McCluskey to take himself to his nearest police station as soon as possible so he can be spoken to by officers.”
Witnesses reported seeing a weapon and firearms officers were sent to the scene, but say no shots were fired.
Officers have also seized a stolen car believed to have been used by the robbers before the raid.
The silver Volkswagen Golf had been driven on false number plates with the registration DG09 NLL after being taken from London.
It is believed the men fled via the entrance to Knight Road Business Park, or through a fence broken during the raid at the back of the petrol station.
Meanwhile, detectives have charged a man with conspiracy to rob following the raid, which happened at about 11.50am.
George John Richard Brockett, 25, of Ivy Close, Gravesend, has been remanded in custody and will appear at Dartford and Gravesham Magistrates’ Court this morning (Sept 24).
But officers are still hunting the two other men in connection with the robbery and ask anyone with information to phone the recorded witness appeal line on 01474 330511.
