Police will revisit the petrol station where a Romney Marsh couple filled their car just minutes before they were killed in a crash.
Two officers will be at the TOTAL station at Brenzett crossroads tomorrow from 9.30 to 10.30am, almost a month on from the crash which killed retired bus driver Barry Griffin and his wife Carole, who worked at Sainsbury's in New Romney.
The couple of Megan Close, who were popular in the Lydd Allotment Association, paid £10.02 for petrol at 9.53am on December 18.
Less than a mile from the station their blue Nissan Micra hit a blue Suzuki Grand Vitara on the way back to Lydd. Mr Griffin, 67, died at the scene and his wife, 66, died after a 16-day fight for life in Ashford's William Harvey Hospital.
Police are still investigating the incident and renewed their appeal for any witnesses to come forward. Officers also plan put signs at either end of the A259 to boost their appeal.
Leading the investigation is PC Christopher Oliver-Jones, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
He said: "We understand there were several vehicles that may have stopped and turned around at the scene so I'd very much like to speak to those people.
"We've already had witnesses coming forward from what they've heard in the news. But we need as many witnesses to come forward as possible. It's very important that they do."
One of the couple's four children, Ian, holds a PhD in Astronomy and has named an asteroid he discovered after the pair to preserve their memory. 25273 BarryCarole orbits between Mars and Jupiter.
The scientist and his siblings, Michael, Jon and Helen, said in a joint statement earlier this month: "As a family, we are angry and devastated by our loss and we are determined to discover the truth about what happened that morning.
"Mum and dad will leave a massive hole in our lives which will never be filled."
