Police claim they have not given up on their hunt for the bomb hoaxer who plunged Canterbury into chaos last year.

It was Friday, August 26, when someone planted two devices made to look like bombs in Marks & Spencer at Rose Lane and next to the railway line in Old Dover Road.

Even though it's more than 200 days since the hoaxer struck and officers have never arrested anyone in connection, the force insists it is pursuing the case as intently as possible.

Det Ch Insp Tom Richards, of Kent Police’s central investigation command, is leading the hunt.

He said: “We are still actively investigating this case and following up a number of lines of inquiry and investigative opportunities resulting from our media appeal in November.

“I would still encourage anyone who thinks they have any information which could assist the investigation to get in touch.”
