Police made two arrests after dozens of officers swooped on a travellers’ site to execute warrants on Wednesday.

Startled locals saw officers with dogs pour into the Chilmington caravan site at Great Chart, near Ashford.

A neighbour said: "Police seemed to be surrounding the area and they were blocking off exits.

"I saw a police van with dogs and also police cars and vans. I even saw then a sniffer spaniel in the area."
