Police trace attack dog's owner

THE owner of a dog that bit a 10-year-old boy in the face has been traced by police.

The attack at the Tesco supermarket in Whitfield, near Dover, left the victim needing nine stitches.

The Jack Russell's owner - a 46-year-old local woman - has been questioned by officers who are now waiting for a decision about whether to proceed with a prosecution.

The boy allegedly asked the woman if he could stroke her dog and as he was bending down the animal attacked him. It is claimed the woman then walked away taking the dog with her.

The incident took place on Sunday, November 19.
