Policeman slightly hurt as burglars flee in car

A KENT police officer was slighted injured when he was struck by a car containing two burglars.

The incident happened after police were called to Colewood reservoir, on the boarder between Gravesham and Strood, on Sunday at around 10.40pm.

When they arrived the burglars were driving off in a silver Mitsubishi 4x4 vehicle. One male officer, based in north Kent, attempted to stop the vehicle and his foot was injured. He suffered minor bruising which did not require hospital treatment.

The vehicle was later recovered from farmland in the Cuxton area.

One of the male offenders is described as white, 5ft 7in tall, of stocky build and wearing a fleece jacket and blue jeans.
