LAW student Amie Williams, the 19-year-old daughter of Tenterden and the Weald community policewoman Annie Williams, has been killed in a car crash.

Amie, of Ashford Road, Bethersden, who was studying at Greenwich University, died along with two other students in the crash which happened on Blackheath Hill in South London. Another student survived the accident.

Amie was the only daughter of former police officer Graham Williams and his wife. They have a younger teenage son, Bryn.

Amie, a former pupil at Homewood School, Tenterden, was described by a friend as "vibrant and charismatic and very popular." Her main love was snowboarding.

The first year student was a passenger in the car, which is understood to have spun on a bend, and hit a taxi. London air ambulance paramedics tried to resuscitate the three students but two died at the scene of the crash, and the third in hospital.

The fourth student has a fractured femur and other injuries and is described as critical but stable in hospital.

In recognition of the attempts by the paramedics to save her, Amie's parents have asked for donations in her memory to be made to the Hospital Emergency Medical Service from the London Hospital at Whitechapel.

The funeral service will be held at Bethersden parish church on Thursday, March 21 at 11am. Family flowers only are requested. Donations may be made via T.W. Fuggle and Son the Tenterden funeral directors.
