Update: We've finally spoken to Damian Green, who understandably has been much in demand with the media.
He says he does not plan to make any formal complaint over his arrest but admits that the whole affair hang over him like a cloud for months. He intends to focus instead on what he says is the need for a change of culture in Government, saying that the instinct of the Labour government to "bully, cover up and react in an extreme way" has to end.
The Government is undoubtedly on the rack over the whole affair, as is the Metropolitan Police, and I can't see the opposition parties letting things lie, even if Damian Green does. Next week's Prime Minister's Question Time could be interesting - David Cameron will want to exploit this and the notorious email smear scandal as evidence of a Government that hits below the belt.
