Ponies killed in 'cruel and malicious' arson attack

TWO miniature ponies have died after a suspcious fire at a stables in the county.

Police were called to the scene at Binney Road, Allhallows, near Rochester at around 2.20pm on Friday after firefighters had dealt with the blaze.

Officers believe the fire was the work of arsonists.

Det Con Steve Goldsmith said: "This is a cruel and malicious act and a full investigation has been launched.

"Crime Scene Investigators have been called to the area to gather forensic evidence and detectives have begun their inquiries."
