Ahhh... poor little Cleo just wants a home
Have you seen this little doggy in the window? Because poor old Cleo's been there - for a very long time.
The unlucky eight-year-old's tail is a sad one.
She's spent a total of 679 days looking for a home - that's 13 dog years - after being rehomed twice.
And all because no-one wants her... Ahhhh.
Today, the mongrel is marking her one year anniversary at the Battersea Dogs Home in Brand's Hatch in her latest attempt to find a loving owner.
Cleo first arrived at the home in August 2009, after her owner failed to get a landlord's permission to keep her.
Since then Cleo was briefly rehomed twice, but both times she was brought back after her new owners could no longer care for her.
During her time there poor Cleo has seen hundreds of other dogs leave for loving new homes, and has patiently waited in her kennel, hoping to catch someone’s eye.
Centre manager Richard King, said: "Cleo is a very popular lady at our centre, and when she is relaxed she can be very sociable and loves going for long walks in our fields.
"We’d all love to see her find a new home soon."
Richard added that prospective owners should not be put off by Cleo’s long stint in kennels.
He said: "Cleo just needs owners who have had dogs with a similar character and are willing to work on a consistent training regime to encourage the positive aspects of her personality.
"In the right home, Cleo will make a super lifelong companion."
Richard said a home away from the city with a private garden would be perfect for Cleo.
She would be happy living with just one person, but would equally enjoy living with older children.
