Pop diva plans to have wicked time at Medway panto

THREE Degrees star Sheila Ferguson will be drawing on her experiences in showbiz to get into character for this year’s panto at The Central Theatre, Chatham.

The pop diva is playing the Wicked Queen in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, a role she will relish.

She said: “It’s a totally different character to what I usually play. I’m looking forward to being mean and entertaining the audience.”

Sheila, who is originally from Philadelphia, has appeared in two previous pantomimes, playing the Fairy Godmother in both shows, but admits it took her a while to get used to the great British tradition.

She said: “The first time I did pantomime I wondered what everyone was laughing at and I didn’t understand it.

“But the second time I appeared in one I got really into it and I had a ball.

"I realised that it is a chance to go on stage and act like a kid again and have fun. So now I have learnt how to enjoy it, I’m really looking forward to this one.”

n Catch Sheila as The Wicked Queen in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs from Thursday, December 13 to Sunday, January 6. Tickets start at £12. To book call 01634 338338.
