Servicemen and women who have fought in all major conflicts since the Second World War will be honoured at the launch of the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal later today.
Since the end of the Second World War, there has been just one year – 1968– when British service personnel have not been killed in service for their country.
As a result, the Aylesford-based charity is to honour all veterans from major conflicts at the launch of its annual appeal at County Hall in Maidstone.
